1. Jake just journeyed with a seven mile jog. Tomorrow he will jog 30% further than he jogged today. How far will he jog tomorrow?
2. Jake just learned how to do jumping jacks and was so stoked that he did 150 of them. However, when he tried to do more jumping jacks afterward, he was so tired that he could only do 30% of the amount that he did originally. How many did he do in the second round?
3. If I had ten apples yesterday and seventeen apples today, what was the percent increase in apples from yesterday to today?

The following problems were given today in class and you were to do them as a group. I will also give the answers. Redo the problems, and show your work. Check your process with the answers given. Please keep in mind that while I made the numbers and statistics up, the math is what matters. The math is correct.
1. Submarines in the 1950s could travel a maximum of 650 ft below the surface. If they, with new technology, can now travel 12% further, how deep can they now travel (ANSWER: 728 feet).
2. The Amazon Rainforest once covered 25,600 square miles of land. If there was a 46% decrease in land area that it now covers, how much land does it now cover? (ANSWER 13,824 square miles)
3. If an avid rock collector collected 200 rocks last week and 254 rocks this week, what is the percent increase in his rock collecting? (ANSWER: 27%)
4. If there were 125,000 televisions sets on Oahu in the 80's, and each decade there was a 10% increase in TV sets (a 10% increase from the decade before, I mean), how many TV sets are there now, in the 2010's? (ANSWER: 166,375 TVs).
5. If Bob has ten apples and collected 150% of that number during school today, how many apples does he now have? (ANSWER: 25 apples)

3. Jack starts with 40 bricks and gains 1.25 bricks a day. Daniel starts with zero bricks, but he receives 12.5 bricks a day. Who will have more bricks after 8 days?
4. If unicorns jump over a rainbow at a rate of 6.3 per minute, how many unicorns would have made the jump in an hour?
5. A student is given the question "what is 4 times 3." She incorrectly answers this with a "2." To help her learn, she is asked this question ten times a day. However she answers it incorrectly 8.4 times a day. How many days of her answering this question will it take for her to answer the question correctly twenty times?
